187 megawatts

Built for the workloads the grid wasn’t

AI training racks draw four to ten times the power of a traditional rack!

Our power architecture was redesigned from the substation forward — utility feeds, UPS topology, on-site generation, and energy contracting — for that reality

Carrier-Neutral

Access multiple telecom providers and network operators

High Bandwidth

Support Infiniband,  100G+, 40G, 10G network connectivity

High Density

Power and cooling envelopes for AI/HPC/cloud workloads

Scalable Footprint

Multi-MW data halls with Day 1 → Day N expansion paths

The ArchitectureFrom the substation to the rack

Our facilities will span across Saudi Arabia in four (4) major cities namely: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and NEOM.

Power for an AI-era data center is not a back-office concern — it is the binding constraint on what you can host, when you can host it, and how it scales. Our tier III certified design has has been deployed in KSA 3 times in the last 13 years. Our power architecture is designed end-to-end, from the substation step-down through the medium-voltage distribution, the UPS topology, the static transfer switches, and the rack-level power distribution units, against the requirements of 135+ kW racks and the redundancy expectations of mission-critical tenants.

  • N+1 utility feeds to every facility, with diverse-route redundancy.
  • 2N UPS configuration available for tier-IV-class workloads.
  • On-site backup generation sized for full facility load.
  • Long-term PPA structures available for hyperscale customers.

What Sovereign InfrastructureActually Means at Desert Dragon

In-Kingdom, end to end

Every megawatt of Desert Dragon capacity is built, operated, and supported within Saudi Arabia. Customer data never leaves the Kingdom unless the customer specifies otherwise. Power is sourced from Saudi national infrastructure. Every facility operator holds a Saudi work authorization.

Regulator-aligned by design

Our facilities are built to align with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), the National Cybersecurity Authority’s Essential Cybersecurity Controls (NCA ECC and CCC), the National Data Management Office (NDMO) data classification framework, SAMA cybersecurity standards for BFSI workloads, and the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) cloud computing regulatory framework.

Air-gap and classification-ready

We support fully air-gapped enclaves, customer-controlled HSM key management, hardware-rooted attestation, and physically segregated cages and halls for classified, defense-adjacent, and regulated-financial workloads.

AI Infrastructure for the Kingdom and the Region

Purpose-Built for Workloads That Cannot Leave the Kingdom

Sovereign AI is no longer a feature. It is a procurement requirement. Government ministries, financial institutions, energy operators, and defense-adjacent enterprises across Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC now require AI compute that is hosted in-Kingdom, governed under national law, and operationally independent from any single state actor or foreign cloud control plane.

Independent of any single national cloud agenda

Desert Dragon is privately operated. Our customers are not subject to the strategic priorities of any state-affiliated cloud champion — yours or anyone else’s. For sovereign-sensitive workloads from neighboring GCC states, this independence is a hard Desert Dragon requirement.

Desert Dragon is engineered to be compliant to the in-Kingdom & International Standards
